Brining Turkey

How do you brine burkey? --Juanita
Hi Juanita! Brining a turkey is not difficult--as long as you have the space in the refrigerator to do it!  EatTurkey.com, the website of the National Turkey Federation, has some excellent instructions at their  Brined Roasted Turkey recipe. You can go ahead and roast the turkey using their recipe, or for a little variety, try one of my roasted turkey recipes, like New England Turkey, Holiday Stuffed Turkey, and Turkey & Stuffing.

  • Question

    Dear Betty,

Could you find me a good, low-fat zucchini bread recipe that will work at Mile High altitude? We cut back to one plant this year but we've still got so much zucchini that I fear my granite counter tops will cave under the weight. (P.S. Love that white hair!)

When I was young a friend's mom use to bake prune kuchans and serve it to all of us when we were gathered around in the yard. I have looked for a recipe for years to no avail. I wish you could find one for me, thank you. --Mona
