Chocolate Chip Bar Recipe
My sister was born in the early 1950's, she said my mother used to make a white "chocolate chip bar." The bars were white but had real chocolate chips in them. I've been trying to find a recipe like this. My mother didn't have a written recipe for it, but knew what she was talking about, she asked me if I recalled them and I didn't. I was wondering if you have a recipe and where I could find it.

Hi Beth,
Well, I’m not sure if any of these are the same as the recipe your sister remembers your mother making, but I hope so! I have three recipes for you to take a look at. Chocolate Chip Shortbread and Chocolate Chip Shortbread Bars are rich, buttery bar-style cookies that are made with real chocolate chips and while they aren’t a true white color, they’re close! And everyone is always happy when I make these Chocolate Chip Squares, with a white cream cheese filling sandwiched between the dough. All of them are delicious; please let me know if they remind me of your mother’s recipe!

QuestionI love Grandma’s Kitchen recipes, there are a lot that have become a tradition around holidays and at the dinner table. I get so many compliments on them when I take them to someone’s house and I always have people ask me for the recipe. I have lost some over the years, but was delighted to find some of my favorites on your website. One recipe that we loved, but that is missing from the site, is braised short ribs -- That was amazing!!! I would be forever grateful if you could add that recipe to this website for me! Thanks again. ~Priscilla~March 2012
