Corn Chowder
I made a corn chowder recipe from here that contained bacon, cream of celery soup, creamed corn, onions, celery, fresh green beans and topped it with cooked bacon and shredded cheese. Do you have this recipe?
--Ann
Hi Ann!
Hmmm, I can’t seem to find that particular recipe you are asking about. But I do have something that’s similar. My Corn & Cheddar Chowder is highly rated by visitors and contains creamed corn, kernel corn, onion and bell pepper, with Cheddar cheese stirred in just at the end. A sprinkling of crumbled bacon just before serving would be a great touch!

I have the Grandma’s Kitchen recipe cards. I’ve lost a card that had a sauce recipe on it. It might be Beefy Tomato Pasta Sauce; I think the recipe had tomato soup and tomato juice in it. If you could look into this?

Question
When I cook vegetables—say, string beans—in oil, I often add slivers of garlic before adding the veg; but the garlic often burns quickly. How can I prevent this? Turn down the heat? Add the veg before the garlic? Or am I doomed to have burned garlic in my veggies? Thanks!

QuestionI was wondering if you could add the thumbprint cookies recipe to the site. I had it in my recipe box but it seems to have gone missing, the good recipes always do. I made them 2 years ago as Christmas presents for the homeless and would really like to make them for my kids this year. I remember the filling being preserves and they were so good. Thanks so much! --Jamie Hi Betty. I had a box of your recipes that my mother gave me when I married. Unfortunately, I lost one of my favorites: the thumbprint cookies. It was a sugar cookie with preserves in center. Can you please post that one or send it? Thank you. --KristinaMarch 2012
