Do you need a double boiler to melt chocolate?

Is it always neccessary to use a double boiler to melt chocolate?
-Debbie

Hello Debbie, You don't need a double boiler to melt chocolate--in fact, I don't even own one myself, and I often melt chocolate without one! I use one of two methods, either by making my own "homemade" double boiler, or using my microwave. For details on how to melt chocolate using these techniques, see Joyce's previous question about the best way to melt chocolate. I hope this helps!
