Flat Iron Steak

Looking for a recipe for flat iron steak. Can you help? --Sheree
Hi Sheree, Oh, yes – the flat iron steak (also called top blade steak) is a wonderful cut of beef: well marbled (so it’s very tasty) and very tender, almost as tender as beef tenderloin. I would grill or pan-fry a flat iron steak just as I would any other beef steak; check out my how-to for Grilling Steak for some tips. Or head over to my recipe for Pan-Seared Rib Eyes for a good basic recipe for stovetop steak. For more ideas, you might want to visit our sister site, EasyEverydayCooking.com, and try Rib Eye Steaks with Tangy Herb Butter,  Pan-Seared Strip Steaks, or Porterhouse Steaks Verde. Hope this helps!

How do you make red eye gravy? My mom made it all the time with a ham steak, but never left me a recipe before she passed.

How do I make cookies in Nevada??! I live in what is considered high altitude (4200-4300 ft above sea level) and can't seem to get my cookies to rise at all. Quite frankly, I couldn't do it in Oregon either. I have fresh baking powder and baking soda, and the same cookie recipe my family has been using for generations. I just can't get them to rise. Great for hockey pucks though!
