Homemade Ice Cream
How do you make homemade ice cream? --Michelle
Michelle,
I've found that most ice cream recipes you see these days require an ice cream machine. But you're in luck, because we have a terrific recipe for strawberry ice cream that does not require a fancy appliance: Check out Strawberry Cream Freeze. For vanilla ice cream you could omit the strawberries and lemon juice and add a little bit of vanilla extract; or for more variety, substitute your favorite fruit for the strawberries.

Question
When I cook vegetables—say, string beans—in oil, I often add slivers of garlic before adding the veg; but the garlic often burns quickly. How can I prevent this? Turn down the heat? Add the veg before the garlic? Or am I doomed to have burned garlic in my veggies? Thanks!

QuestionMy sister was born in the early 1950's, she said my mother used to make a white "chocolate chip bar." The bars were white but had real chocolate chips in them. I've been trying to find a recipe like this. My mother didn't have a written recipe for it, but knew what she was talking about, she asked me if I recalled them and I didn't. I was wondering if you have a recipe and where I could find it.
