How to measure 2/3 or 3/4 cup

I would like to know if I don't have a 2/3 or 3/4 cup or spoon, what would be the measurements? Thanks.
-Vanessa

Hi Vanessa,
Do you happen to have a 1/3 cup measuring cup? Because if you do, the easiest way to get 2/3 of a cup is to simply use your 1/3 measure twice. Otherwise, if you don’t have a 1/3 cup measure, 10 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons is also equal to 2/3 cup.

As for 3/4 cup, if you have a 1/4 cup measure you can just use that 3 times (or 1/2 cup plus 1/4 cup also equals 3/4 cup).

Pineapple upside down cake, please. This was something my mom use to make when I was little. She is gone now so I can't get her recipe. Thanks again.

I have several cookie recipes I would like to try but they all call for shortening (which I have never used in anything, and can't imagine ever using!). Can I use butter instead and get the same results? What about in pie crust? Thanks for all your help in the past - you are the greatest! --Nana Ruth

  • Question
Hey Betty, I once had your recipe for cinnamon buns but I misplaced it. If possible I would like to have it, through any method. I am serving breakfast this coming Saturday, so I will need it quickly. Also I had tried the recipe on a few occasions but the buns didn't seem to cook all the way through (they were so good they were eaten anyway though). Could you tell me how to correct this? Thanks. --Alexis
