Mexican Potluck
I have to bring a Mexican dish to a dinner party; I know how to cook Mexican food, but I don’t know what to bring. I don’t want to bring tacos or something that involves heating tortillas.
How about a Mexican-inspired beef stew? My Smokehouse Stew has a lovely variation that uses chili powder, green chiles and hominy (scroll down the page to get to “Grandma’s Secret Trick” for the variation).
Or maybe a rice dish? Our sister site, GreatMealsinUnder30.com, has two terrific recipe might want to try: Mexican Chicken and Rice and Mexican Rice. If you try one of them, please let me know how it turns out!

Question
Do you have a recipe that was popular in the 60's, it was a frozen fruit salad, using fruit cocktail & I think maybe cream cheese. It was something white & creamy, but not sweet. Mom would freeze it in the ice cubes tray. The kind with the removable lever cube divider. I believe she would serve on a lettuce leaf, maybe with a dab of mayo and a cherry. Thanks.

Question
I have the Grandma’s Kitchen recipe cards. I’ve lost a card that had a sauce recipe on it. It might be Beefy Tomato Pasta Sauce; I think the recipe had tomato soup and tomato juice in it. If you could look into this?

QuestionHi Betty,
Would you happen to have the recipe for the old fashion cooked Date Roll Candy? My mother-in-law always made it at Christmas and I never did get that recipe. Everyone loved it and looked forward to her sweets. Thank you for your help.
