Poppy Seed Dressing

I am diabetic and looking for recipes for desserts. I also need one for poppy seed dressing. Thanks Betty! --Joan
Hi Joan, I don’t happen to have a poppy seed dressing recipe on the site, but our sister site, EasyEverydayCooking.com, has a great one you should try: Poppy Seed Dressing with Salad Greens. As for diabetic-friendly desserts, at this time we don’t have any recipes that are specifically developed for those on a restricted diet. But I urge you to check out the website of the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org. Their “Food & Fitness” section has a lot of excellent advice on healthy cooking in general and cooking for diabetes patients in particular. In addition, www.DiabeticLifestyle.com has a large number of diabetic-friendly recipes in all categories. And you might want to check out my recipes that are tagged  “Healthy,” which you can find at www.grandmaskitchen.com/tag/healthy.  Although they are not specifically developed to be diabetic-friendly, you might find some desserts that fit in with your eating plan.

  • Question
I often buy boxed mixes -- rices, cornbread, pastas -- when they're on sale. I often don't use them right away and I've found I've gotten bugs in them, which is why I always pour the mix into a bowl before I put it in the pot. My question is, would it be safe to put the boxes in the refrigerator or freezer, so they would keep better? Would it compromise the quality of the product? Thank you, Tina
