Stuffed Peppers Go-Withs

What side dish and dessert could I serve with stuffed peppers? --Beverly
Hi Beverly, Hmmm, good question!  Stuffed peppers can seem difficult to pair with other dishes, but really, it’s not hard. Since there’s probably a lot going on in the stuffing for the peppers, you’ll probably want a starchy side dish that’s not too complicated, like Pasta with Garlic & Parsley, Greek-Style Orzo, Cheesy Pasta & Broccoli, or Greek Bow Ties. For a dessert, well, I think that pretty much anything goes, depending on what you’d like to make, and the time you have to make it.  Simple sugar cookies would be nice, as would a chocolate cake or fruit crisp. Why not try one of these?  Drop Sugar Cookies, Glazed Vanilla CookiesDark Chocolate Cake, Milk Chocolate Cake, Apple Cranberry Cobbler, Oaty Apple Crisp, Apple & Pear Cheese Crisp.

What Others Have To Say

I love stuffed peppers as well! But I never thought of using tomato sauce like a gravy over mashed potatoes -- but it sounds delicious!

Stuffed peppers are the best ,ours are baked with tomato sauce covering them...The best dish that goes perfectly in our house is good old fashioned mashed potatoes...the tomato sauce is poured over the potatos just like gravy...great

  • Question
Dear Betty, I frequently see "baking soda" as an ingredient in many baked goods recipes. Why is this? Is it really necessary? In addition, salt may be optional. If a person is attempting to reduce her/his SODIUM intake can't she/he do without either or both ingredients without really affecting the outcome/taste of the baked good(s)? Thank you and happy holidays! Sincerely, Bill
