Using Raw Honey

I recently bought raw honey to use in cooking or baking. I am at a loss for ideas. Do you have any? --Athena
Athena, I have a number of recipes that  put honey to good use.  Why not try one of these?   --Honey Orange Chicken   --Fresh Sweet Potato Salad --the dipping sauce in Crunchy Potato Bites --Sunflower Banana Bread And remember that you can use raw honey just as you would regular honey. Some of my favorite uses are: --Warm slightly and use as a pancake or biscuit topper (instead of maple syrup). --Stir into unsweetened yogurt. --Drizzle on oatmeal. --Make peanut butter and honey sandwiches! (my grandkids’ favorite) --Mix equal parts honey and mustard for a chicken or pork marinade. --Mix equal parts honey and butter for a great toast topper.

What Others Have To Say

you can also use it as substitute for brown sugar. It is a one-to-one ratio.

Thank you ! I needed to know that I could use raw honey the same as regular honey by heating it. It is like a paste. The recipes sound yummy.

  • Question
I often buy boxed mixes -- rices, cornbread, pastas -- when they're on sale. I often don't use them right away and I've found I've gotten bugs in them, which is why I always pour the mix into a bowl before I put it in the pot. My question is, would it be safe to put the boxes in the refrigerator or freezer, so they would keep better? Would it compromise the quality of the product? Thank you, Tina
