Korean Fried Steak Fingers

10 minutes“Cut these steak fingers into smaller strips and spear them with toothpicks for an elegant and inexpensive appetizer. You can prepare them several days ahead and freeze them to make party day less hectic.”
Ingredients
Serves 4
- 3 pounds flank steak, tenderized
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup sherry or 1/4 cup beef broth plus 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 green onions, minced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Directions

Cut steak into 4 pieces. Place in a baking dish. Combine sugar, soy sauce, garlic and sherry in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour over steak. Let stand for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a large skillet. Combine egg and green onions in a large bowl. Spread flour on waxed paper in a shallow dish.

Remove steak from marinade. Dip into flour, then egg mixture.

Add steak pieces to skillet. Fry, turning several times, until coating is browned, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet. Let cool slightly. Cut into fingers. Serve hot or cold.
