Make your own self-rising flour to save money-and a shopping trip. Combine a scant 2 cups all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt to yield 2 cups.

Ingredients

Serves 12 

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease 12 muffin cups.

    Combine flour, mayonnaise, milk, sugar and salt in a medium bowl.

    Stir flour mixture with a wooden spoon just until mixed.

    Fill prepared muffin cups halfway with batter. Bake until rolls are browned, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.

I used to make these many years ago and decided to bake some tonight. They were delicious! I added more sugar than the recipe calls for and smothered them in honey butter. Yummy!
