Honey & Spice Chicken Broil
Prep time:
25 minutesCooking time:
25 minutes“For a tender and juicy broiled chicken at a budget-friendly price, use only chicken thighs. Dark meat stays moister than white meat and is usually less expensive than the breast meat, as well.”
Ingredients
Serves 6
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds, ground
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 pounds boneless chicken breasts and thighs
Directions
1
Heat oil in a small skillet over medium heat. Add chili powder, curry powder and garlic. Cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
2
Combine chili powder mixture, yogurt, cinnamon, coriander seeds, honey, celery seeds and salt in a large bowl. Add chicken. Pierce chicken with a fork in several places. Stir well.
3
Refrigerate for 20 minutes. Preheat broiler. Arrange chicken on a broiler pan.
4
Broil chicken 5 inches from heat, turning every 6 minutes, until cooked through, about 25 minutes.

Save cleanup time by combining all ingredients in step 2 in a resealable plastic bag. Remove chicken for cooking, then just throw away the bag.
