Nutty Herbed Dressing

1 hour“This recipe is a perfect way to use bread heels and crusts. Place them in a food processor or blender container and process until crumbs form. Freeze any leftover crumbs for later use.”
Ingredients
Serves 6
- 5 cups bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups chopped mixed nuts
- 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 large onion, chopped
Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a medium baking dish. Combine bread crumbs, sage, salt and pepper in a large bowl.

Add nuts, butter, egg and milk to bowl; mix well. Stir celery and onion.

Spread dressing mixture evenly over bottom of prepared baking dish.

Bake until dressing is set and fairly dry in the center, about 1 hour.
