Grandma's Secret Trick
If she didn't have tomato paste on hand, Grandma had a useful substitution. She used 1 cup of canned chopped tomatoes instead, and omitted the water. She usually added 1/4 teaspoon of sugar, as tomato paste is slightly sweeter than canned tomatoes.
Many of Grandma’s great lamb recipes came from her relatives in Colorado, which is lamb country.
Grandma would make these little meat loaves when she had the grandkids for the weekend. Even the pickiest cousin loved the neat single servings!
