Classic Salisbury Steaks

Ingredients
Serves 4
- 1 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup chopped onion (about 1 small)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 package (8-ounce) fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 jar (12-ounce) beef gravy
Directions

Combine the beef, onion, sage, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty, about3/4-inch thick.

Cook the patties in a large skillet over medium heat, turning once, until desired doneness, 10–14 minutes.

Meanwhile, melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender, 5–7 minutes. Stir in the gravy. Cook until the gravy is heated through, 3–5 minutes longer. Serve the gravy over the patties.
