We kids loved eating our beef and beans out of Grandma’s cute little bean pots.
Grandma's Secret Trick
On busy days, Grandma made this stewed beef in the slow cooker. She browned the beef according to the recipe directions, layered the ingredients as directed in a slow cooker, then covered it and cooked the mixture on LOW for 6 hours. She served this dish with plenty of corn bread for soaking up the pan juices.
Our family was amazed at how Grandma could whip up this satisfying dish at a moment’s notice.
We first tasted this hearty sausage dish on a crisp autumn day after raking the leaves on Grandma’s front lawn.
After ball practice, we headed for supper at Grandma’s, where she fixed us her beef-and-potato casserole.
