Grandma would make these little meat loaves when she had the grandkids for the weekend. Even the pickiest cousin loved the neat single servings!
Grandma's Secret Trick
Sometimes Grandma would add a little shredded carrot to the meat mixture for added nutrition. And if she didn’t have any store-bought barbecue sauce on hand, she’d make her own by mixing together 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/4 cup cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons brown sugar.
I remember these sandwiches best from the week each summer that all the cousins went to Grandma’s.
‘Your grandmother’s meat loaf is the best there is,’ Grandpa always said, and I believe he was right.
After Grandma learned to grill Chinese ribs, she fixed them that way often.
