Grandma's Secret Trick

Grandma's Secret Trick

According to Grandma, something special happens to cabbage as it browns in a skillet-it develops a sweet and savory flavor and a tender, melting texture. She always said "low and slow is best when you brown cabbage." To enhance the rich flavor, she added 4 tablespoons butter to the finished dish. She often served this filling food as a meatless main dish.
