Grandma's Secret Trick
Grandma's Secret Trick
Because different sugars affect the texture of cookies, Grandma kept a variety on hand. She knew that cookies made with granulated sugar turn crisp and hard when they stand, and those made with brown sugar turn soft as they begin to cool. She also told us that sugar, no matter what kind, can be stored indefinitely as long as it is kept in a cool, dry place.
