Touchdown Brownies
Prep time:
20 minutesBake time:
35 minutes“Grandma made these easy, one-bowl brownies for Uncle Rick when he had the gang over to watch the game.”
Ingredients
Serves 16
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tube (4 ounces) white decorating icing
- Chocolate sprinkles
Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 350F. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil. Light grease the foil.
2
In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition, until combined.
3
Beat in the melted chocolate and the vanilla until well combined. Beat in the flour until a thick batter forms. Fold in the milk chocolate chips and walnuts until combined.
4
Spoon the batter into the prepared pan. Using a spatula, spread the batter evenly in the pan.
5
Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs, about 35 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack; cool completely. Cut into 16 squares.
6
Using the white icing, pipe a football onto the center of each brownie. Using tweezers, place chocolate sprinkles on top of the footballs for laces.

Grandma's Secret Tip
Grandma's Secret Tip
At first we laughed when we saw tweezers in Grandma’s kitchen. But she explained that they are actually a handy tool to have on hand. They gave her a steady hand when adding small decorations to baked goods.
