Grandma could do a lot with the dough for these biscuits. She sometimes used a 1-inch cutter to cut hors d'oeuvre-size biscuits, which she split and stuffed with shaved ham. She sometimes rolled out the dough and pressed it into a pie plate to make a surprising and tasty crust for sausage quiche.
