Cheeseburger Pie
Prep time:
20 mins.Bake Time:
36 minutes“All that’s missing is the bun in this reinvention of the popular cheeseburger. We put it all in a piecrust instead!”
Ingredients
Serves 6
- 1 refrigerated piecrust (from a 15-oz. package)
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup shredded American and Cheddar cheese blend
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 4 slices American cheese, cut into1/2-inch strips(20 strips total)
Directions
1

Preheat oven to 425°F. Place the piecrust in an ungreased 9-inch pie plate. Bake until lightly browned, 5–7 minutes. Reduce oven to 325°F.
2

Meanwhile, cook the beef and onion in a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and crumbly and the onion is tender, 7–9 minutes. Drain.
3

Combine the eggs, milk, cheese blend, salt, pepper, and oregano in a medium bowl. Stir in the beef mixture. Spread in the baked piecrust. Bake until the filling is set, 30–40 minutes.
4
Place the cheese slices in a crisscross pattern over the filling, breaking the slices if necessary to fit. Bake until the cheese slices are melted, 1–2 minutes. Serve.
