Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces thin spaghetti
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
  1. 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat; add ground chuck and onion. Cook until browned and crumbly, about 5 minutes; drain. Stir in undrained tomatoes and tomato sauce.

  2. 2

Add bay leaves, Italian seasoning and Worcestershire sauce to skillet; cover. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 25 minutes. Discard bay leaves.

  3. 3

While sauce is simmering, cook spaghetti according to package directions.

  4. 4

To keep pasta water from boiling over, rub a small amount of vegetable oil around the inside top of the pot before you add the water.
