Turkey Chili With Beans

Ground turkey slims this chili down but still keeps the fire burning with great chili flavor. Round some up today!

Ingredients

Serves 6 

  • 1 large green bell pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/4 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can (28-ounce) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 2 cans (15-ounce each) dark red kidney beans, undrained
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions

    Deseed and chop the bell pepper. Chop the onion.Set the bell pepper and onion aside.

    Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey, bell pepper and onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is cooked through and the onion is tender, 5–7 minutes.

    Place the turkey mixture, tomatoes, tomato juice, beans, cumin, chili powder, celery seeds and salt in a large sauce pan or Dutch oven. Stir to combine. Simmer over medium-low heat until the flavorsare blended, about 30 minutes. Serve.
