10 mins.Cook Time:
13 minutes“Ordinary chicken can have extraordinary flavor—just try this simple recipe and see! It will soon be a family favorite.”
Ingredients
Serves 4
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (about 5 oz. each)
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 cup Dijon-style mustard
- 1 cup whipping cream
Directions
1

Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken. Sprinkle each chicken breast with the thyme, salt and pepper. Cook until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear when pierced with a knife, 5–6 minutes on each side.
2

Remove the chicken from the skillet. Keep warm.
3

Add the mustard to the juices in the skillet. Stir until blended. Add the cream and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cook until the sauce has thickened slightly, 3–5 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and serve.

Baked potatoes and green peas are just the right sides for this saucy chicken. Try a German chocolate cake for dessert.

• Keep the chicken warm while you’re making the sauce but avoid washing another plate: Just place the chicken breasts on a sheet of aluminum foil, then top with another piece of foil and crimp the edges together.
