Smoky Sausage Burgers

10 minutes“You can save money by omitting the liquid smoke flavoring and cooking these burgers over charcoal to create a natural smoke flavoring. Add a handful of water-soaked wood chips for a stronger smoky flavor.”
Ingredients
Serves 6
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound bulk pork sausage
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 loaves French bread
- Lettuce leaves
- Sliced red onion
- Sliced tomatoes
Directions

Preheat grill or broiler. Combine beef, sausage, onion, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke and garlic powder in a large bowl; mix well.

Shape the mixture into oval patties. Place on a platter.

Grill patties over medium-hot coals, turning once, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.

Serve burgers on French bread with lettuce, onion and tomatoes. Serve with ketchup.
