Sesame Chicken Bites

10 minutes“If you have a hard time using up leftovers, buy only as much cooked chicken as you need for this recipe at the deli. Eight ounces of chicken will yield 1 cup. Mince it or chop it in a food processor.”
Ingredients
Serves 40
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
- 1 cup minced cooked chicken
- 1/3 cup minced celery
- 1 (2-ounce) jar chopped pimiento, drained
- 2 (8-count) cans crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a baking sheet. Combine cream cheese, lemon juice, Italian seasoning and onion salt in a large bowl; beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in chicken, celery and pimiento.

Separate dough into 8 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. Spread chicken mixture over dough rectangles, leaving 1/2-inch border.

Roll each rectangle from long side to enclose filling. Press edges to seal. Brush roll with egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Slice each roll into 5 pieces. Place seamside down on prepared baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes.
