Give pizza a twist—and a pull! Sausage, onion, bell pepper and two kinds of cheese all meltinto this unique biscuit crust.

Ingredients

Serves 12

  • 1 lb. bulk Italian sausage
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion (about 1 medium)
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped green bell pepper (about 1 small)
  • 2 cups pizza sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 cans (12 oz. each) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into fourths
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 12-cup fluted tube pan.

  2. 2

Cook the sausage, onion and bell pepper in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is cooked through, 6–8 minutes. Drain.

  3. 3

Stir the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes and 2 tbsp. Parmesan into the skillet. Bring to a full boil. Spoon half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.

  4. 4

Immediately top with half the dough pieces.

  5. 5

Spoon the remaining sauce mixture over the dough in the pan. Top with the mozzarella and remaining dough pieces.

  6. 6

Bake until browned, 30–35 minutes. Immediately invert onto a platter. Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan before serving.
