Grandma had lots of volunteers to help roll the potato balls in the crumbs.
Grandma's Secret Trick
With so many of us dropping by so often, Grandma became a whiz at whipping up treats with whatever she had on hand. It seems like we were barely out of the car when she had a tray of these ready to go into the oven. If she was out of Swiss cheese, she substituted Cheddar cheese for a flavor we liked just as much.
These are so easy that my brother and I could prepare them by the time we were 10 years old.
Sometimes Grandma cut these into eight large squares and served them as a side to fish, chicken or pork.
The smell of cheese dip baking at Grandma’s house always promised a good time.
