Grandma's Secret Trick
Canned salmon usually contains some tiny bones and skin that need to be removed before using the salmon. Grandma placed the salmon in a bowl and picked up and examined each piece of salmon. She removed and discarded the skin, bones and any dark brown flesh.
Grandma used this festive cheese ball, speckled with bacon, pecans and pimientos, to start our Christmas or New Year’s celebration.
The grown-ups thought I wouldn’t like these tidbits, but I surprised them by eating loads of them.
