Sparkling Party Punch
Prep time:
20 mins, plus freezing:
none“Orange juice, lemon-lime soda and champagne create a colorful, festive punch. A decorative ice ring adds the perfect finishing touch.”
Ingredients
Serves 18
- Fresh raspberries, edible flowers and/or fresh mint
- 1 can (12-ounce) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1 bottle (1 liter) lemon-lime soda, chilled (4 cups)
- 1 bottle (750 ml.) extra-dry champagne or 3 cups ginger ale, chilled
- 11/2 cups fresh raspberries, chilled
Directions
1

At least 1 day before serving the punch, fill a ring mold or a tube pan one-third full of water. Freeze until solid. Arrange the raspberries, edible flowers and/or the mint over the ice. Slowly pour additional water over the top, being careful not to disturb the decorations. Freeze until solid.
2

On serving day, combine the orange juice concentrate and sugar in a punch bowl or very large clear-glass serving bowl. Stir in 1 cup water.
3

Slowly pour the soda and champagne into the bowl. Add the chilled raspberries and the ice ring. Serve.

Grandma's Secret Tip
Grandma's Secret Tip
To ensure a crystal-clear ice ring, use distilled water only. Boil the distilled water (either on the stove top or in the microwave) and let it cool before filling the mold.
