Better than the ice-cream shop! Make your own nonfat yogurt smoothies that taste just like an apple pie.

Ingredients

Serves 2 

  • 1 large apple, such as Braeburn or Red Delicious
  • 2 cups nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup caramel ice-cream topping
  • 3/4 teaspoon apple-pie spice
Directions
  1. 1

    Peel the apple and cut into 1/2-inch cubes.

    Place the frozen yogurt, apple cubes, apple cider, caramel topping and apple-pie spice in a 5-cup blender container or a food processor bowl.

    Cover and blend the mixture until smooth. Use a narrow spatula to push down the ingredients, if needed.

    Divide evenly between 2 glasses and serve immediately. Refrigerate any remaining smoothie.

If apple-pie spice isn’t available, you can substitute 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice.
