Chocolate Banana Cream Cooler
Prep time:
20 minutesCooking time:
none“Grandma alwasy bought bananas in bulk when they were on sale. Then she'd freeze any ripened bananas she couldn't use immediately, unpeeled. To defrost, she'd run the banana under warm water for 1 to 2 minutes and peel as usual.”
Ingredients
Serves 12
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
- 3 bananas, sliced
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
- 3 1/2 cups cold milk
- 2 (3.9-ounce) packages chocolate instant pudding mix
- 8 ounces whipped topping
- 12 maraschino cherries
Directions
1
Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter in a small bowl. Press mixture evenly over the bottom of a medium baking dish. Arrange bananas on crust.
2
Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth, about 1 minute. Add 1/4 cup milk; beat well. Add remaining milk and pudding mix. Beat well for about 5 minutes.
3
Drop spoonfuls of chocolate mixture on top of bananas in dish. Spread chocolate mixture evenly.
4
Spread whipped topping over pudding mixture in dish. Garnish with maraschino cherries. Chill until serving time.
