Ingredients

Serves 6

  • 8 oz. semisweet chocolate, brokeninto squares
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz. red and green grapes, rinsed
  • 18 strawberries, rinsed
  • 2 large apples, rinsed
  • 2 bananas
  • 3 kiwifruits
Directions
  1. 1

Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl with the butter and cream. Set it on top of a saucepan of barely simmering water and stir until melted, about 15 minutes. (Do not let the base of the bowl touch the water.)

  2. 2

Slice the grapes in half, if desired, and remove the seeds, if necessary. Hulland halve the strawberries. Core the apples and cutinto chunks.

  3. 3

Peel the bananas and slice into thick chunks. Remove the skin from the kiwifruit and cut into chunks.

  4. 4

Pour the warm chocolate dip into a serving bowl and place in the center of a large serving plate. Arrange the fruit around the bowl and serve immediately.

Grandma's Secret Tip

Cubes of fresh mango would add an exotic touch to this recipe. Fresh pineapple, cut into rings or triangles, works well, too.
